Eco printed silk scarf printed with Red Onion skins 90cm x 90cm

This listing is for a square OOAK (One of a Kind) hand printed original, silk scarf, hand printed with red onion skins. Each eco - printed scarf is a unique botanical print or 'nature print' making for a beautiful, natural, wearable textile.

Working with our environment as both inspiration and source I create exclusive designs on Silks and Hand Made Paper using only plant materials gathered from my garden at home, or out in the Northumbrian landscape while on walks in the countryside.

In 2016, I undertook a four day Eco-Printing residency at Wild Northumbrian Tipi’s and Yurts During this time I captured some of the atmosphere which inspired me, the resulting process and original prints on video. You can watch this by clicking on the link below.

Ghosts of Nature is my love for textiles and surface decoration reborn. Every Ghosts of Nature creation is an unique, one of a kind original and natural, botanical print created by the natural pigmentation found in leaves and flowers, seeds and bark. They leave their beautiful marks upon the surface in a delightful way, I can achieve different results at different times of year with leaves from the same plants and I love the unpredictability of this. It's almost impossible to represent and record the details on each scarf with a camera and backlit screen, they really need to be seen in close proximity to be fully appreciated.

Scarf Size - approx 90cm x 90cm.

Care Instructions:

* Cool handwash with natural soap or soapnuts only - Do not use a commercial       detergent as this will be too harsh for the delicate print. Do not wash in the washing   machine as this could damage the delicate silk.
* Store out of direct sunlight.
* Iron on high heat.
