Our natural solid shampoo bars and beautiful conditioner bars suited to all hair types are both truly effective and simple to use with fully compostable, plastic free packaging. Handmade by us in small batches from beautiful, consiously chosen, naturally derived ingredients, conditioning waxes and nourishing plant butters and oils. They have the addition of plant powders and essential oils to deliver effective and gentle cleansing to all hair types.
It is not a soap, but pH balanced shampoo bar therefore no acidic rinse or transition period is required as you would get with soap-based shampoo bars.

Are your shampoo bars suitable for coloured hair?
Yes! Our formulas do not contain sulfates (the ones to blame for stripping off colour) only naturally derived and super gentle cleansing and conditioning ingredients therefore suitable for coloured hair.
I’m not sure which bar to choose, because my scalp is sensitive, but my hair is oily.
For sensitive scalps we'd advise to go for the Chamomile & Lavender shampoo bar, teamed up with Lavender & Lemon light conditioning bar to soften and condition scalp and hair. Formulated with super gentle naturally derived cleansers and with soothing anti-inflammatory chamomile, this gentle bar should help settle things down.
I live in hard water; would your shampoo bar be suitable for hard water areas?
Oakwood Soaperie bars are pH balanced shampoo, not soap, therefore they are suitable for hard water areas.
My hair is oily, but I find shampoo bars for oily hair to be too drying.
Our Nettle & Rosemary bar has been formulated to help gently cleanse the scalp, help balance sebum production and at the same time nourish dry ends, it will not be drying!
How long does your shampoo bar last?
Each shampoo bar is 80g and depending on usage lasts around 45-50 washes, or 3 months’ worth of washing, which replaces up to 2 or 3 BOTTLES of liquid shampoo, therefore reducing your plastic waste considerably over the year.
Do your bars contain Palm oil and are they tested on animals?
All our ingredients are certified palm oil free and are never tested on animals, neither are any of the ingredients.
